Half Term Comics Club: Making Funny Halloween Comics

The school library at the Vineyard School, Friars Stile Rd, Richmond TW10 6NE

Suitable for school Years 3-6

Open to pupils from other schools as well as Vineyard pupils

Led by Mark & Zoe Pembrey

Following successful Summer workshops hosted by the Vineyard School, we're delighted to announce a special half-term Comics Club session! 

This three-hour session will include:

• Introductions, making sure everyone feels welcome
• A drawing tutorial, teaching easy ways to draw classic Halloween monsters and their environments
• A group exercise, filling a giant paper haunted house template
• A snack break (there is a small outdoor space neighbouring the library)
• A talk about making short, funny and spooky comics
• Each making a small comic book and filling it with a Halloween story to take home

Mark and Zoe are a husband and wife team. As well as being artists, Mark is a children's bookseller and Zoe is an art teacher. Mark runs weekly after-school Comics Clubs at the Vineyard, and we're grateful to be hosted by the school for this half-term session.

Tickets are non-refundable within 3 days of the event.

Important Notes:

• Please send children with snacks and a drink for break time
• Prompt pickup at 6pm is appreciated
• Both Mark and Zoe are DBS checked
• Zoe has first aid training and first aid facilities are available on site
